Why I’ve been there drama RS
Overall, I think if your looking for an enjoyable and fulfilling way to *** time while not taking things too seriously or perhaps get involved with a decent online community, RS3 is the thing to do. If your looking for a feeling of achievement from of the time you have spent online, thanĀ OSRS gold is the way to go. If you’re looking for RuneScape with longevity though, I would propose RS3, despite it’s own bunch of issues and regardless of what OSRS players will tell you, and need to believe themselves, OSRS is not going in a good direction long term. Community shrewd, with the toxicity of the community and the absolute resistance to anything that contrasts with their nostalgia, Jagex will eventually have to choose between pleasing it’s old player base and keeping their player base entirely.
Why is RuneScape great for me personally is dueling somebody about the Wilderness or hunting other players. Skilling and PvM is *** of their time. You will find things like raids and certain managers which could be fun but I don’t think that they justify the massive number of hours you gotta sit on your computer to grind. I don’t think RuneScape is great once you need some kind of distraction to keep your attention from the boredom that may be a slayer job, fishing, agility, etc. I get that some people may enjoy low attempt pursuits but at the same time, it is also a videogame, I don’t get how game developers aprove of content that makes players look away from the screen. I really don’t believe I can ever describe any game I have ever played as a tool”I do on the side” it almost sounds like a part-time job.
Another issue with skilling and PvM is the absence of development, there’s little to no difference between what you do in a skill at level 3 than what it is you’re performing in level 90 and beyond. Same goes for PvM, before you reach the tail-end of it, you will fight monsters exactly the same way for hours and hours. People think of development as”numbers heading up” but it lacks a lot of depth in like 80% of it. Additionally, it is a weird, nearly anti-social, encounter. If you are skilling for training or resources combat at particular areas it’s almost like you need to avoid running into players because they might get in the way of your training. I’ve met a lot of folks but it’s always exactly the same, possibly 1 conversation and I will never speak to them again, CCs always talk about the same things too. I will guess based on your title you made an account simply to vent about RuneScape. It’s ok, I’ve been there too.
I love how osrs is a sandbox mmo in contrast to the conventional theme park mmo. I select my avenues and work towards my goals wether it is to grind a skill for a particular journal or a pursuit released 10 years ago with a good reward. I can leave and pick up RuneScape in 1 year and that I dont need to play catch up because I missed a ton of dailies or my gear isnt considered outdated and *** because I missed two new dungeons or raids. I usually dislike mmos, particularly theme park mmos since I dont need to treat them like a second job/a chore to keep myself relevant. There’s also no sentimental significance to plenty of those things because I understand they are gonna become outdated in the next big patch. In osrs I can get an infernal cape and use that *** with pride because it’s been one of, if not the very prestigious thing in RuneScape for 3 decades. Give me a mythical item in WoW and it is going to become obsolete in the next raid.
So I’ve seen people talk about buy RS gold and enjoying it on a daily basis and I wished to ask you guys this, should I get into Oldschool Runescape? What’s something which makes it stick out among other MMORPGs. Does the free version have enough content to be worth it? Can this RuneScape I can appreciate solo or is playing friends advocated? What do you personally enjoy about playing it? Try it out. It’s extremely grindy though and time gated at points. You are able to 100% appreciate it solo and really the only thing you need friends for are if you would like to get into late game bossing(also to be social).
