I like some emotes. Poppy has like what 3 or 4? Trist could sure use one. Shoot, Even Lulu has one and she technically outdated and needs a VGU to be caught up with Trist and Poppy for “Modern Yordle” standards. But she got one or two anyway. (There a SG Lulu emote isn there? I forget.)While Starbound is prettier, and I can build nicer things in it with less limitations,
there less to actually “work” for. The majority of my time adventuring in starbound tends to be a run across the surface, raiding whatever buildings happen to spawn for the items I want and then leaving. I only really go underground the first time I get to a planet or if I just REALLY want to collect more “rare” liquid. Especially since underground,
just about every planet is basically the same. I can run into the same stuff on a dead planet as I can on a starter planet. There not much to do underground. The ores are very clustered so I get them quickly. So there no reason to go underground most of the time. The monsters are also not very varied and there no “threat” on any planet other than “Oh *** I blindly jumped into a pit of 4 monsters that breathe fire”.
You also have no real incentive to settle down on one planet. Which for some, like myself, can lead to a bit of a feeling of. kind of “too much” sandbox vibe. I don really get anything for settling, in fact, because of how the ship is, it actually more inconvenient to settle and store my *** on a planet because not only does it mean getting back and fort
