Fabric requirements for digital printing fabrics
Digital printing can be divided into digital thermal transfer printing (printed on paper by a digital machine and then transferred to cloth) and direct jet printing.
The sublimation transfer here does not require color separation, directly coloring according to customer requirements, trimming the pattern, printing on paper through a digital printer, and transferring to the fabric through high temperature (generally 180-215 degrees) and high pressure.
Ink used: dispersion ink
Fabric requirements:
1. It is best to be white or light-colored (the printed type must be darker than the color of the gray fabric)
2. The composition of the fabric must be high temperature resistant, generally choose all-polyester or relatively high polyester content, such as (65/35 polyester cotton, 80/20 polyester cotton, 95/5 polyester polyurethane)
3. Do not add silicone oil to the grey fabric before printing. The setting temperature is slightly higher, and the shrinkage of the fabric after printing will be smaller.
4. Do not add fluorescent agent, if it is absolutely necessary, add as little as possible
Transfer printing is aimed at cotton, silk, rayon, linen or cotton polyester, cotton with high content of cotton, and it does not require color separation. Retouching and coloring are required.
Ink used: reactive ink
Fabric requirements:
1. It is best to be white (or natural white), or light-colored (the printed type must be darker than the color of the gray fabric), and cotton fabrics need to be singed
2. The grey fabric must be sizing before printing, in order to ensure the stiffness and chromaticity of the grey fabric
The advantages of digital printing: fast sampling, no plate making, good environment, fast digital sampling, no color separation for any pattern, high precision, bright colors, strong sense of hierarchy, and can achieve photo effects. Suitable for small batch orders.
Disadvantages of digital printing: high cost, not suitable for large-volume orders, complex cotton technology, and difficult to control shrinkage.
The ink and fabric requirements for plate-making thermal transfer printing are the same as digital thermal transfer printing. The paper includes white paper, yellow paper, and newsprint, which are thinner than digital thermal transfer paper.
Advantages: low unit price, suitable for mass production, bright colors, rich layers
Disadvantages: only suitable for patterns that can be color-separated, color-separated drawing, high plate cost, printing color is not easy to control, there are errors, the first plate is printed, the production cycle is longer, and the production environment is poor
