Disposable masks should be strictly disinfected
During the epidemic of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus, wearing masks is one of the effective protective measures, but due to the high demand, everyone needs to use each mask well. As ordinary citizens, how to reuse disposable masks scientifically and reasonably in daily life? Chief physician Wu Liming, director of the Municipal Health Promotion Center, said that repeated use of masks should be done in three ways.
When masks are reused, these three points need to be noted:
1. You can only wear masks you have used repeatedly;
2. After each use, the mask can be placed in a clean, dry and ventilated place, or separately in a clean and ventilated paper bag to avoid contamination;
3. To properly control the number of repeated use, should not be too much.
However, in these three cases, do not reuse masks:
1. Wear a mask to go to a medical institution, have close contact with people with fever and cough symptoms, close contacts with new coronary pneumonia, home medical observers, suspected or confirmed cases;
2. The mask is contaminated with blood, nasal mucus, etc., or becomes dirty or smells;
3. The mask is damaged or deformed (especially hard masks).
In addition, I would like to remind everyone that there is generally no need to disinfect reusable disposable masks, especially not to be washed. If there are special circumstances, it is recommended to use household ultraviolet sterilizers or household utensils disinfection cabinets for disinfection.
When disinfecting, you should follow the product instructions and pay attention to unfolding the mask. Do not place damp dishes and chopsticks in the tableware disinfection cabinet, and do not use the heating function (to avoid safety problems). Before wearing again, you should carefully check whether there are damage or aging parts. The performance of masks after ultraviolet disinfection will be affected to a certain extent, so it is recommended to discard after disinfection.
