Use ice packs to avoid common mistakes
Traditional first aid treatment, ice cubes, compression and elevation angle-has been standard first aid for decades, often used for sports and other injuries.
Although ice cubes have been shown to greatly reduce swelling and pain, it is important to use ice packs correctly to avoid further injury.
Avoid the following common mistakes when using homemade ice packs:
1. Excessive injury: Because ice constricts blood vessels, it can reduce blood flow to the injured area and delay the healing process. Each application of the ice pack does not exceed 10 minutes.
2. Apply ice cubes directly on the bare skin: If done incorrectly, ice cubes may cause frostbite and damage the delicate tissues of the skin. The sewn fabric set onto the gel ice pack-which can be inserted between the ice pack and the skin-can help you avoid injuries.
3. Do not lift the injury: If you use the gel pack when you are injured, please lift the affected body part as much as possible.
4. Don’t hurt your injury when it freezes: Of course, it only takes a few minutes to put your gel on ice at home. But you need plenty of rest time to heal your injury. If the pain does not relieve or the wound cannot be healed within a day or two, please consult a doctor or seek medical help.
