NBA 2K21: Exactly What Does An Acceptable Current-Gen Version Look Like?
2K and EA are in interesting places. Both have major sports games coming out within a few months on current-generation and next-generation consoles. EA has Madden 21 coming out later this month for PS4 and Xbox One after this month, and what we assume will be an entirely different, more innovative version coming for PS5 and RuneScape gold Xbox collection X in November or even December. EA has the same scenario with FIFA 21.
2K has NBA 2K21 coming from the first week of September, with what figures for a bigger and better version on its way to consoles. Afterall, the 2020 NBA Draft nor agency will not have happened by the time current-gen NBA 2K21 is released. The 2019-20 NBA season will not even be done.
Due to these things all, anyone expecting as large of an effort as we see from an 2K release is likely to be let down. All logic points to 2K saving most of its ammunition or all on the versions. Nevertheless, what does a suitable release that is current-gen look like for 2K? I have some thoughts. As we have seen in the trailer which released last month, the images will be identical, if not identical to NBA 2K20. I am fine with this bit of stagnation, Even though this could be an issue for some.
There is two reasons: first, I believe we’ve already seen this creation of consoled pushed into their graphical limitation. Than what we find here, it’s not likely to get far better on PS4 and XB1. Second, it might be absurd to think 2K would want to invest when they stand to benefit from providing a version which will be hyped up mainly because it looks, in enhancing the product visually. 2K and every other producer of annual sports video games will want the gap between current and next-gen to be evident from a visual perspective. As a customer, I’m fine with that approach.
Soundtracks are all cool and all, but quite honestly, in investing a lot into this part of a game, I fight to find the authentic worth. That said, we have already seen the soundtrack which is going to be in the game, and depending upon your personal tastes, you’re either elated, disappointed, or Old School RS Gold could care less about the songs included. I’m fine with what’s coming on that front, as far as comment, I will wait for the models for a major leap in this area. There are some things that could be done to create what’ superior commentary in the game even better.
