Often trivial, this is not the all-black UR-110 Torperdo seen from URWERK (I discuss hands-on here), which is a special limited edition closer, with a black coated dial and a back. The original version was bare titanium. It looks interesting, but many people claim it looks a bit unfinished. Can’t wait to wait for the black-coated model, URWERK now shows us the UR-110 ZrN Torpedo model. The black coated dial looks very beautiful – especially red and electric green. It is not a black case, but titanium is coated with zirconium nitride (ZrN).

The result is a color that looks a bit like champagne. Because URWERK calls the watch a torpedo “Champagne Supernova”. With such a lofty title, I really hope that the watch will not live up to its devastating name.
